A great camera both in size and resolution.
The possibility of recording to memory card in full HD is great.
I find the WIFI card to be inconvenient in how it is placed on the PCB. This make it difficult to incorporate into some enclosures.
Would be great if analog video could be displayed at the same time as WIFI is on.
Could be equipped with some sort of cable in order to position it according to users application.

Nice Quality of image, some issues with focus, but nice contact with support and all solved. Now im going for another one.

I had no issues with it, just plug and play. You have to be carefull with the ribbon cable connecting camera to the main board, if you install it wrong way the main board won't turn on.

I had a problem with a runcam split main board with no damage but not working correctly. The support team helped me fix it with a replacement board.
The only problem I have is the buttons on the side are a bit susceptible to damage.

Perfect cam for FPV and HD!
Very good quality

I've owned the Runcam 3 and flew with the original Eagle prior to installing this nifty device that does both, just maybe not as well.
The Runcam 3 blew me away with it's image quality and was expecting just that however was a little let down with the Runcam Split v2 with no way of correcting without switching up the lenses. It would be great if color hue could be adjusted through the software.
The latency of the Split 2 is also lagging especially when compared to the Eagle. Also compared, is not as detailed.
These problems can however be easily adapted to and I would still recommend for I think it is the best out there.

i have the split 1 and 2, i'm very pleased with both, the hd footage is fantastic, the fpv feed is superb. use it with a new sd card, 32gb ultra and above, cards get old after 500 writes.

A real review from a first time user of the RunCam Split 2. For RC and Remote control devices that utilize FPV and desire to record 1080P at 60 frames per second, and keep the weight down, this is a game changing product...Editing software should have been a quick licencing agreement and a Rebranded URL for additional end user support. if you could get the Latency down around 26-20ms as with other TV out Cameras, A huge segment (everyone racing and posting freestyle videos) would embrace what RunCam has been developing. I am using direct Solder to Camera voltage 5V 3A and ground as directed on my Flight controller (Lumenier Alpha All in one, same as Sunrise Siskin, or RacerStar Tatto-S F4S) on a racing Quadcopter. I am using a 2200uF 25V capacitor on VBAT Terminals, Micro SD card is a Sandisk U3 UHS speed rated 64GB Ultra Micro SD no frames dropped just buttery smooth video is being recorded. My Split 2 board is installed above my AIO FC+ESC PCB in a Dquad Obsession V2 frame using T5046C DAL Cyclones because they are well balanced out of the package and reduce vibraitons...I can get 30-40 degree adjustment using the stock mounting holes with some modification to where I mount the Bracket, also had to Dremel a bevel to avoid squashing wires against the board. Soft mounting your motors+ Bolts and Flight stack (using motor mounts above and below the arms, + 4 soft mounts for both boards) is optimal to reduce jello, camera is hard mounted, with little to no jello (Serious). When Hovering next to areas with high texture there is hardly noticeable jello at the edges of the frame with tree branches, everything else looks solid. I have it set to record when a battery is connected (stock) I will say when overcast you need to use Cloudy setting to get correct exposure..otherwise Auto exposure with WDR does a great job, on overcast days the sky will force the ground below to be underexposed, just change the setting for that situation, and perhaps open desert with the same situation. be careful not to bend the metal shield (very easy to bend) as this may affect how the SD card holder interacts with the SD Card. This is actually a better method than the swinging gate clip in the V1, though I would have liked to see a better connection (better Soldering) of the USB port to the board...mine has come loose after using my USB port 3 times and I am going to have to resolder it down...For what it does this little HD onboard Camera really shines. I still get 4-5 minute flights while recording as well, noted in my 5 minute video segments from start to finish. I am using the Wifi setup with a Kindle Fire, had to download the right APP version, but it works...its a little Klunky to get set up, but it works, and once you get used to the buttons you can change a setting before you have a VTX or are set up for FPV in about 1-2 minutes. Future wishes: Lower Latency is a priority, 4K recording would be the next step as you compete in the action camera market..A Runcam Split Micro with a smaller board(20mmx20mm) and Micro Cam would make shockwaves + Just make it happen with the same spec lighter weight. I do like how it can also function like a dashcam and am considering getting another just to live in my car with a separate LiThion battery in a 3D printed housing, clipped to my Rearview mirror facing out the front. For weight savings alone the Split is worth putting on your quad or Wing, or anything you can think of that gives FPV and records high definition. I would welcome a lower resolution mode if it improved the latency. Even if you had 2 cameras as part of the system, one a low latency micro camera, the other a HD recorder, it would still be lighter than 1/2 the weight of a GoPro (GoSlow) Cube. If you could attach 2 cameras and switch the feed or record from both at the same time that would be additionally exciting, especially for racing footage. Ooh and If I were to dream big, you could licence with Feiyutech and market a micro gimbal for the Split camera that could fit nearly every sub 250mm quqdcopter, turning them into cinema smooth video options. They allready make a Plug and Play version for the GoPro Session, but a smaller one for the Split camera would be a segment changing intrusion into what it takes two companys to do currently with regard to a 4K camera on a 3D gimbal in a small form factor. Doing this with a higher res or current res split would be another game changer....thank you for the opportunity to share my impression and initial thoughts. The wide Voltage input on the V2 is also greatly appreciated!

Fazit:
TOP KAMERA
Preis Leistung absolut top.
Vorteil ist auch die variable Versorgungsspannung. Der Gewichtsvorteil zu einer regulären Actioncam ist auf jeden Fall den Kauf wert.

I love this camera. The FPV quality is top-notch, and the HD output is nice too. One of my biggest complaints is the encoding. It outputs to .mov, which is challenging to edit with free esitors unless you own a Mac. If Runcam had a decent video editing software that would also let me crop out the props, life would be much easier, and it would put them on par with GoPro, who has editing software.

Bear in mind tat I'm new-ish to the hobby and that this is my first upgrade from the Wizard X220's camera. That aside, this is such a great piece of tech. The difference between the FPV feed of this and my previous camera is literally unbelievable. The sun looks like the sun, and not a black dot. Colors are vivid and stay the same whether facing the sun or not. The HS video quality is every bit as good as the action cam that it replaced (it died in a crash). That's a good segue into why this is so great - the action cam is protected in the frame. That's worth a lot to me. It also gets read of the heavy wart on the nose of my quad, which is another huge plus - less weight = more run time. You can see the props in the HD feed, but I can edit that out, so it's not a thing. Thanks RunCam - this is just what I needed.
