The camera is decent, albeit quite good for the price. It's annoying that they flipped the microUSB slot 180º in comparison from the previous models - annoying if you upgraded from an older RunCam like I did. Video quality is good, but it doesn't handle low light very well. Biggest problem is the live FPV feed. I have been using RunCam for the HD + FPV feed for years and was always happy. The RC5 frequently stalls and freeze-frames in the FPV feed - usually right when I need it to work the most! At least it makes my flights more exciting!

Great product. Remember to get a good quality Micro SD card - U3 is best. Here is my video review;

Overall very happy. Video quality good, no issues so far.
Good built quality, would like a better way of indicating battery charge level (small display perhaps or by utilising the multicolour LED). Great cam for the price.

RunCam disposed of the features that FPV pilots don't use and put their effort into a quality sensor at a fantastic price. No more fear of loss from flying over water or other risky ventures.

While having a couple of drawbacks, (not waterproof, no wifi, limited settings) this is an awesome camera for the price! I have found it to studder occasionally too.
The good thing is it's simplicity. You get the app, pick your settings, and wala, you are off and filming. I have crashed hard, yet the camera keeps going. I definitely recommend this camera for the FPV community.

I've been using this cam a couple of weeks now and I'm really happy with it so far.
The gopro has still a little bit better picturequality (not that much though in my opinion), but the gap is closing with the rc5. I love the weight (it showed 55.5g on my scale) its quite the improvement over the foxeer box 2 and the gopros.
I like the qr-code setup process since i beleve it to be faster and more convenient than having to connect to wifi and i think thats where part of the weight improvement comes from. Durability is also pretty good (I had a couple of crashes so far and it works still like new).
The soundquality is half descent (worse than a gopro, but really good compared to a split mini). I dont care much about the sound of a cam, if I need good sound I use a good mic and for my flight videos i use music instead of screaming motor sounds ;-)
The price and the weight make this cam by far THE best cubesized HD cam I've ever owned (thats why I bought a second one for redundancy after 1 day of using the first one).
The only iprovements that would make this the absolut gopro killer would be a nonlinear 4:3 to 16:9 strech, a removable battery with an integrated bec to power it straight from an up to 6s lipo ( to save even more weight) and IP67 rating, other than that its an absolute top camera.

It's similar to HERO5 session but doesn't have any WiFi/BT. But this camera is lightweight(-20g to HERO5 Session), and the size is almost the same as HERO5 session.
Pros :
1. It's cheap! ($99)
2. Lightweight
3. Easy operation (QR code settings, we don't need WiFi/BT!)
4. Good image quality
Cons.
1. Poor sound quality
2. Non-waterproof (I want IPX5 at least)
3. Bad position of the button (not compatible with HERO5 session)
4. XV mode is some odd (at the center of the picture due to Superview patent)
I made some comparison videos.

As it is RunCam, I think that there is no problem in the beauty of the image.
The battery I was worried about was also able to record 4 minutes x 12 battery packs and 21 minutes on the way back.
There is no problem with the battery.
I think that it would be better to buy at an earlier date, as it will probably rise above the current price.
It may be said that the performance is quite a bargain.
The SD card slot is sliding.
Be careful not to tear it by mistake lol
The mount can be used as it is with the gopro session 5 mount.
Change settings to create a QR code on the smartphone from the RunCam app
Scan the QR code by pressing the button twice with RunCam 5 and change the setting.
I think it is a good idea.

The truth is that this product is good, the simplicity, quality of the recorded video and size are the way to choose a solution like this, smaller than the traditional action camera and very easy to use.
